Hello, friends!
My name is Alicia, my favorite ice cream flavor is Neapolitan, and I love dogs, hedgehogs, and sloths.
I am also an editor specializing in copy editing and proofreading.
You know I’m a bona fide nerd because I have a collection of Alice in Wonderland books, I derive a weird joy from correcting grammar and punctuation, and I’m obsessed with trivia games. I also believe in the Oxford comma, but I can leave it out if it really bothers you.
My education includes a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in journalism, as well as my daily episode of Jeopardy!
I started my career as a news/editorial writer in the office of Public Affairs at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, where I published stories for the campus news website and for several annual and quarterly publications.
After that, I served as copy editor for The Poly Post newspaper. This was where I found my niche. Writing and reporting was interesting, but editing is my true love.
I also worked as an independent contractor with Scribendi, Inc., where I edited nearly every type of document imaginable and worked with a variety of international style and language requirements.
I now copy edit and proofread for Penguin Random House, Candlewick Press, Scholastic Book Clubs, and several other publishers and independent authors, and I love every second of it!
I started this business to help all the great authors and writers out there become even greater. You provide a great story, and I’ll make sure the words take you there.
I can’t wait to work with you!
